[Sioux Falls, SD] -- Julian Beaudion, a local business owner and law enforcement officer for the state, formally announced his candidacy for City Council this Friday at Swamp Daddy’s Cajun Kitchen in Downtown Sioux Falls. Dean of Students at Augustana University, Mark Backburn, praised Julian’s continued involvement in the Sioux Falls community. Julian was introduced by former Lt. Governor Matt Michels, who advocated for Julian’s character and suitability for public office. Speaking to the crowd of over 100 people, Beaudion outlined his vision for the future of Sioux Falls, including a strong emphasis on public safety, cultural representation in government, community engagement, and economic development.  Julian’s wife, Inkka Beaudion chronicled their personal journey from Louisiana to South Dakota in an emotional speech to the crowd of family, friends, and long-time supporters.

The event was live-streamed via Facebook, and footage can still be accessed on Julian Beaudion’s campaign page (facebook.com/julianforsiouxfalls). After Julian concluded his statement to his supporters, a local musician Devon Cadwell entertained as photos were taken, and the (now official) candidate mingled with the crowd.

Julian Beaudion’s campaign team will begin reaching out to individual voters this week. If anyone is looking to become involved in the Beaudion campaign, please go to JulianforSiouxFalls.com and click “get involved”.
